First we’ll use droppers and liquid watercolors to drop colorful raindrops on our umbrellas (shapes cut on the Silhouette). The watercolors pool on the cardstock, but it creates a great opportunity to blot it up with coffee filters. Later after the filters dried, we cut raindrop shapes out of them for our page.
We’re also saving our paper towels and reusing them for painting projects, then we’ll make a collage or a wall hanging project with their paint soaked paper towels.
At the end of the activity we ask each kid to describe their umbrella.
